You Are Stardust

Students stared at me, mouths agape, when they heard this fact after our aquaponics discussion led to talk of atoms, molecules and elements. We then read the book, You are Stardust by Elin Kelsey, a wonderful and thought provoking book on our relationship with the cosmos. We also explored this astonishing fact by discussing how stars are formed and how their death has led to the world they know.

The students were quite taken with the style of illustrations by the artist, Soyeon Kim, and will be employing this technique on a future project with Tracy.
